Acupuncture and Fertility

fertilityFertility issues are increasingly common but can respond very well to Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. Lots of research has been done in this area, especially into Acupuncture’s effects in improving the results of IVF. Before you embark on that route though, many conditions reducing fertility can be helped with Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. These include:

  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
  • Endometriosis
  • Regulation of monthly cycle
  • Unexplained infertility
  • Male fertility issues
  • Overall wellbeing (reduce stress, increase energy, improve sleep, digestion and circulation,)

You don’t have to have fertility issues to benefit from Acupuncture when preparing to start (or add to) your family. We recommend a 3 month pre-conception programme of Acupuncture (with Chinese Herbal Medicine if required). This allows us to find the root cause of any issues and to get you in the healthiest possible state to conceive.

For those with known fertility problems, or those requiring IVF or other assisted reproduction techniques, Acupuncture really comes into its own. It can maximise your response to treatment and help you cope with the stress associated with these procedures. When having IVF, Acupuncture treatment at key times in the cycle is important for the best results.

Ann has years of experience helping couples naturally boost their fertility, and in working synergistically with an IVF regime. Various Acupuncture styles are available, including techniques for those who find the idea of needles a bit confronting. Acupuncture treatments are eligible for health-fund rebates.
